Backpacking In The Time Of Covid

Current world trends have left much of the hospitality industry in a spin due to the current lock-downs, rules, regulations, dos and don’ts regarding the present Covid-19 pandemic that is sweeping the globe.

Many accommodation businesses have fallen by the wayside and the regular and casual travellers have had to completely re-think their travel plans.

Finding the right budget accommodation not too far from the Cape Town CBD for block bookings such as film and construction crews, schools groups, team building and conference groups, church groups, NGO’s, universities, sports groups etc. under the existing world-wide Covid-19 pandemic situation is even trickier.

Riverlodge Backpackers situated in Oude Molen Eco Village in Pinelands, Cape Town is still operating and takes the safety and welfare of its backpacking guests very seriously. The hostel is a Covid-19 and lock-down certified essential service accommodation supplier.

There are large lounge areas and an ample semi-covered courtyard with seating arranged in such a way to comply with those regulations.

Riverlodge guests are also issued with their own cutlery to use for the duration of their stay.

Riverlodge Backpackers only allows half capacity in its dorms and sleeping arrangements are specifically spaced to adhere to the social distancing rules and backpacking group configurations can be catered for.
