Bee Keeping Workshop, here on Oude Molen Eco Village, Cape Town Hosted by Dominique and Jenny Marchand, authors of “ Beekeeping a practical guide for Southern Arica”  this two day course covers:

• Beekeeping is a sustainable, profitable activity that not only produces crops of honey, which is always in demand, but the pollination promotes excellent fruit and seed,  set on agricultural land, and fosters biodiversity.
• Train potential beekeepers whether they be farmers, farm workers, entrepreneurs setting up small ventures or hobbyists.
• To gain practical experience of apiary work, safety aspects
• Beehive management
• Understanding bee behaviour: re hiving bee colonies, catching wild swarms
• Honey harvesting and extraction
• Value added aspects of Beekeeping.

Added special feature of the fierce African bee, is the fact that it is the only Bee in the world that can reproduce it’s own queen.

Two day introductory course to Bees and Beekeeping.
Cost includes : 2 nights accommodation, teas/light lunch as well as breakfast of honey pancakes on day 2.
Essential bring own water bottle, gum boots or hiking boots
Protective clothing is provided (veils, overalls and gloves)
